Ms. Eismann,
I can
not say enough about your book. I consider it a valuable "tool" to
use with Photoshop. It is the best book I have come across on the
subject of photo retouching. I am sure many echo may sentiments. Thanks.
This
is a picture of my mother when she was 23 yrs. old, and one of my
first attempts at photo retouching. It was tucked away for many years
and when I saw it I immediately wanted to make it "live" again. As
you can see it is pretty old and battered with bad color, blemishes,
stains, and scratches. With the help of your book I took steps to
make it a grayscale image, correct the tone, give new black & white
highlights, better contrast, remove the blemishes and scratches with
the clone and patch tools. Then I switched back to RGB and added color
to the image. After I was done I showed it to my mother and she was
completely amazed and could not believe it was the same photo. She
was so pleased and proud of the new photo. I had her sign it for me,
then I framed it and put it in my house. The whole experience was
so gratifying.
Thank
you so much for sharing your knowledge,
Dennis R
